The River Rock Fireplace Surround... Soaring Skyward!
The river rock fireplace surround images featured here highlight a dizzying array of multi-story extravaganzas . . . . .
. . . . from an equally illustrious array of architects, designers and builders, such as the striking design
pictured above from Summit Handcrafted Log Homes.
The dazzling designs pictured at right and below are by Locati Architects, a premier architectural design
firm based in Bozeman, Montana.
The soaring river rock fireplace designs that follow feature stones in varying sizes and colors. The lovely
design pictured below, left, is from PrecisionCraft Log & Timber Homes. Below, right, is a design by Montana
Idaho Log & Timber Homes. Note how the stone placement just above the
firebox opening
on each of the designs cleverly simulates an arched firebox.
The river rock fireplace surround that follows is from Sitka Log Homes.
Pictured below, left, is a close-up of the striking design featured at top by Summit Handcrafted Log Homes.
Along with a beautifully crafted mantel shelf and corbels, i.e., brackets, it boasts an actual arched firebox.
The arched fireplace design on the right is by Custom Log Homes. However, as with some of the prior examples,
the stone work above the firebox opening merely simu- lates an arched firebox.
Following are two additional examples of soaring floor-to-ceiling fireplace de- signs. The design on the left
is by Montana Log Homes, while the design on the right is from Golden Eagle Log Homes.
Pictured below, left, is a striking corner fireplace design -- once again, by Summit Handcrafted Homes. The
design on the right features a massive raised hearth that projects forward on either side of the firebox opening.
The unique three tier log mantel shelf design includes large log corbels, or brack- ets, for support.
Pictured below is a cozy stone hearth design from Golden Eagle Log Homes.
Each of the towering designs that follow feature an arched firebox opening. The design pictured below, left,
with a driftwood mantel shelf is by master stone artisan Lew French.
And finally, the river rock fireplace surround photos at right and below feature designs for outdoor fire- places. Note the difference in rock size and color between the two im- ages, as well as the difference in how the rocks are arranged.
